Hello everyone!
With the start of February, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates with Figment Archives! While we only just launched in January, I’ve already been brainstorming ways to make this space even better. Disney history will still remain the core part of what I share, but I’ve decided to make some changes and approach things a little differently moving forward.
Originally, my plan was to post twice a month: one post dedicated to updates and one essay-style post on a Disney history topic of my choice. I’ve realized though that there’s so much more I want to talk about—content that doesn’t necessarily fit into those two sole categories. I also want the flexibility to post more often when inspiration strikes me.
One of the biggest changes I plan on making is pivoting towards sharing more about the research I’m doing. While I’ll still post about various Disney history topics, I want to give you a closer look at the projects I’m working on that are tied to that history. From research updates to practical tips and resources, this newsletter will now be a space where I share my journey toward becoming a Disney historian.
You may have noticed that I’ve added some new pages to the menu! I’ve decided to make Substack my main hub, which means this space will now be replacing my website. Here’s a quick overview of how to navigate your way around:
About: A more detailed section that gives some background on myself and Figment Archives.
Updates: A space for posts like this, as well as updates about my research.
Disney History: This page hasn’t changed, so all Disney history posts will continue to live here.
My Research: A page dedicated to my research projects, with links to posts that dive deeper into my work.
Resources: All posts where I highlight resources, like books, websites, databases, and more! I also plan to share any helpful tips and tricks I happen to learn along the way here.
Other Projects: A hub for everything I’m working on outside of my research. Here you’ll find links to my Libib catalogue (more on this later this month), Goodreads account (so you can follow what I’m currently reading), and a new resource I’m currently developing (which I’ll share more on soon)!
I’m so excited to make Substack my new home base. I find it is the perfect balance between simplicity and providing me with the tools I need to create and share meaningful content.
Take a moment to explore the new menu and check out my first few posts. Whether you’re here for Disney history, research tips, or updates on my projects, I hope you’ll find something to enjoy!
That’s it for today’s post—thank you so much for reading!
Have a magical day, friends! 🙂
So excited to see what’s to come!🤩
