Hello & Welcome
Main Street Library is my personal Disney history research library—and this Substack is where I share it with others.
From my physical collection to digital resources, I collect, study, and share materials that can help fellow researchers and fans explore Disney’s legacy.
Curated by a librarian and lifelong Disney fan, this newsletter offers resource highlights, research updates, and helpful tools that bring Disney’s past to life—and make it easier for others to explore it too!

Why Main Street Library?
Main Street, U.S.A. is the inspiration behind the name. It’s a place where you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, rich with nostalgia, charm, and history—it’s exactly the feeling I want to capture here. Main Street highlights my love for Disney and history, while Library represents my passion for research, collecting, curating, and resource sharing.

About Me
I’m a librarian and aspiring historian based just outside of Toronto, Canada. My work is shaped by a lifelong love of Disney, libraries, and history, with a focus on uncovering untold stories and overlooked details. I especially love deep-diving into research and sharing what I discover with others. When I’m not in the library or buried in the archives, you can usually find me reading a book, rummaging through antique shops, or seeking adventure in the great wide somewhere.
A Little More About My Research
My research is focused on the roles that libraries, archives, and information professionals have played, and continue to play, in shaping both Disney’s creative output and historical legacy.
I’m specifically interested in uncovering the history of The Walt Disney Studio Library, which supported animators, writers, and other studio staff by answering reference questions, providing research materials, and so much more. This library is an overlooked part of Disney history, but it played such a crucial role in helping create magic behind-the-scenes.
